Magda Gourinchas (b.2001, she/her) is a french-american media artist majoring in fine arts and minoring in animation & special effects and business administration at carnegie mellon university.
Magda's creative process applies a feminist sensitivity to political and cultural situations that she sees as full of meaning. Her work is reflexive, mining her own experience for insight, emotion, and understanding. She frequently uses graphic parody and hints of humor to represent broader ideas and concepts ---including sex, therapy, aging, pain, and fear.
Perhaps this orientation comes from her origins as a French-American binational. France has a rich tradition of graphic novels and animation that Magda finds herself drawn to.
